Park on Milwaukee’s Lakefront is one of the premier kite
flying areas in the country because of the consistent winds off
of Lake Michigan. The entire 80 acre Park is fill from the freeway
projects of the 50’s & 60’s, and projects out into
Lake Michigan. On June 1, 1984, the Milwaukee County Board said
in part, “The planned open meadows were intended to be
used for informal field games, and because of the prevalent winds,
to be used for KITE FLYING”. The huge Gift of Wings Windsock
flying in the Park is 50 feet long and lets everyone know when it
is time to GO FLY A KITE. Located in Downtown Milwaukee on Lincoln
